How to Apply
The following guidelines apply to all Gaia Fund applicants.
Gaia Fund requires eligible applicants follow a two-step process, in which successful Letters of Inquiry (LOI) will be invited to submit a subsequent full proposal. Before submitting the initial LOI, all applicants must first be registered in the foundation’s online grants management portal.
To register:

please visit the Funding Interests section.
Step 1
Letter of Inquiry
As a first step in applying for a grant, eligible organizations should submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI). Following the review of the LOI, applicants will be notified whether or not the Fund would like to invite a full proposal.
LOIs must be submitted during designated submission dates, listed in the table below. Once your organization has successfully registered on the online grants portal, you will click on the “New LOI” icon to begin the submission process. We have created this LOI overview to summarize the LOI requirements.
Step 2
Full Proposal
If the Fund is interested in further considering the request, applicants will be asked to submit a more detailed proposal. The due date for the full proposals are listed in the table below.
Successful applicants will be asked to sign an agreement letter indicating any conditions associated with the grant award.
